Does any one know who our neighbor is?
My neighbor is the World. Some neighbors are nice some are mean and grumpy. Just like the world is grumpy and the world is happy. Out of 100%, 37 present is happy and telling about Jesus. Every Christians mission is tell as many people about Jesus as you can! God made us to tell about his miracles. A lot of non Christians see a miracle and then believe but by that time it is too late they are in a bright light by a white thrown. What will be their fate? Think about that, what is your fate?
"My neighbor is the World."
ReplyDeleteI love that line, girl. That's a good wake-me-up reminder, Abby Gene.
Now I have a challenge for your mission:
Which is more important? How many people you tell about Jesus, or how many people Jesus told you to go tell? What exactly did He tell us to do?
Abs, you already shine like a star in the universe. I love that about you! Remember that you shine when you hold out the Word of life.
ReplyDeleteWere my questions confusing, honey? I intended them to be. My questions were designed to make you think, and to cause you to look up the answer in Scripture, maybe even come to me and ask me what was up. What exactly did Jesus call us to do after He rose from the grave? Matthew 28. He didn't call us to tell as many people as we could about Him, because it's not about quantity or 'telling' as much as it is about seeing every soul as precious in His sight, and loving them enough to work with them, to teach them, to help them, to serve them, and really just do life with them.
My point goes a little deep, but I want you to start thinking about what that His command looks like for you, Abs. How many people did you tell about Jesus last week? If that's all that counts, you might find some days to be really depressing and sad. I can setup a radio station for the world and tell everyone who Jesus is, but will that accomplish what He's called us to do? If you can instead ask yourself, did I love, did I teach, did I serve, did I point to Jesus, did I give Him thanks? Am I making disciples, to ALL? In my heart are there some that I don't feel deserve the same Grace afforded to me? Am I baptizing them, seeing them as He does then? As I'm teaching them to obey, am I obeying as well? When they fall, and they will most certainly, will you remember that I fall too? That everyone does, and that the whole reason Jesus came in the first place was for sinners like you and me?
My first trip to Haiti I told Oberline about Jesus. I realized too late that's not enough. My second trip I told her who He actually was, what He did and why. But it hasn't been until recently that we've began to disciple her, to put hands and feet to this faith. Do you see the difference?
As your Dad I want to cause you to dive in deeper, honey, because it's my desire for you to take more of Jesus and less of the world.
